Where to hold a Friday-to-Sunday wedding weekend near Sunriver

For a three-day wedding with 24 or fewer adults staying over, hold all of it at one estate on the Deschutes River near Sunriver. The rehearsal dinner, the ceremony and the brunch happen on the same three acres, and the wedding party sleeps in the same 11 bedrooms.

A Friday check-in and a Sunday check-out is two nights, which is the minimum stay on every booking. Weddings are not an exception, and there are no day rentals. The weekend shape fits the rule instead of working around it.

This page covers the weekend as a sequence. For the venue itself, the cap, the rentals and the vendor list, see micro-weddings at the estate.

Friday rehearsal dinner on the property near Sunriver

The rehearsal dinner happens on the property, at the four 8-foot picnic tables in a row or at the 12-foot dining table inside. The large gas grill on the covered deck feeds either one.

The kitchen suits a self-catered dinner. It has a large butcher-block island, a Vitamix, a KitchenAid mixer, a sous vide and Breville espresso. For a hosted dinner, the vendor list names private chefs.

Plan Friday for the people sleeping on site, since only up to 24 adults can stay overnight. Ask us how the cap of up to 45 applies to Friday dinner guests who are not staying. Dinner out is also an option; see where to eat near Sunriver. Make reservations for larger groups.

Saturday ceremony on 450 feet of private Deschutes frontage

The ceremony can be held outdoors on the grounds, with the river as the backdrop. The estate has 450 feet of private frontage, a private dock with Adirondack chairs, a stone-paved walking path and a grassy clearing by the Cottage.

The wrap-around covered deck is the fallback if the weather turns. So are the two large living areas, which have vaulted ceilings and stone fireplaces. About 16 folding chairs and some folding tables are on site, so seating 45 means bringing more chairs than the estate keeps on site.

No officiant is supplied. The Epicurate vendor list does not include officiants, so the couple finds their own.

Sunday brunch at the 12-foot table near Sunriver

Sunday brunch is for the overnight group, up to 30 guests, and it runs across the 12-foot table and the picnic tables. The table seats twelve on benches and chairs, with more chairs and folding tables available.

Cook it yourselves, or book a private chef from the vendor list. Coffee comes from the Breville espresso, and the dock is a quiet place to drink it. Allow time before check-out at 11 AM for the clean-up rule below.

Early check-in and late check-out cannot be guaranteed. They depend on other reservations and are not confirmed until the week of. Do not schedule vendor deliveries or a late brunch around either.

Who sleeps in the Sunriver estate and who comes for the day

Up to 30 guests sleep on site, with a maximum of 24 adults, and the wedding total is up to 45 including children. The rest of the 45 come for the day and sleep elsewhere. Occupancy limits are enforced because the home is on a well and septic system.

Vendors for a Sunriver wedding weekend through Epicurate

The estate shares a vendor list through Epicurate for chefs, photographers and more. It does not list officiants.

  • Friday: a private chef for the rehearsal dinner, or the grill and the kitchen.
  • Saturday: a photographer, and a chef or caterer for the wedding dinner.
  • Sunday: a private chef for brunch.
  • Any day: mobile massage for the wedding party.

Tell every vendor that Chief Paulina Drive is a shared dirt road with families and pets, and that they should drive slowly.

Music at a wedding weekend near Sunriver

No amplified music: no DJs, no subwoofers, no professional music setups. Live music ensembles and small Bluetooth speakers are fine. If unsure, please ask.

A string trio is a live music ensemble, so it fits at the ceremony or at dinner. A DJ, a subwoofer or a professional music setup does not. An evening built on toasts, live music and conversation suits the estate better than one built on a dance floor. Large rental items such as dance floors are not allowed.

House rules for a three-day wedding on the Deschutes

The rules that shape a wedding weekend are fire, rentals, clean-up and quiet hours. Each one lands on a different day, so plan for them in order.

  • Fire: there are no fires June through September, and May and October are weather dependent. No sparklers, candles or open flame of any kind.
  • Rentals: large rental items such as dance floors are not allowed. If in doubt about an item, pre-approve it with us.
  • Clean-up: everything is returned to its original location with garbage removed, inside and out.
  • Smoking: the property is non-smoking, and shoes come off inside.
  • Renter: the person booking must be 30 or older.

Frequently asked questions

Can we hold a rehearsal dinner at the estate?

Yes. A Friday rehearsal dinner can be held on the property, at the four 8-foot picnic tables or the 12-foot dining table, with the gas grill on the deck. Only up to 24 adults can stay overnight, so ask us how the cap applies to guests who come only for dinner.

Is a Friday-to-Sunday weekend long enough?

Friday to Sunday is two nights, which is the minimum stay on every booking. There are no day rentals, so a wedding is always part of an overnight stay. Add a third night if you want a day on the river afterward.

How many guests can attend the wedding?

Up to 45 total, including children, even if they are not staying overnight. The estate sleeps up to 30, with a maximum of 24 adults. The home is on a well and septic system, so the caps are firm.

Can we bring a DJ for Saturday night?

No amplified music: no DJs, no subwoofers, no professional music setups. Live music ensembles and small Bluetooth speakers are fine. If unsure, please ask.

Does the estate provide an officiant?

No. The Epicurate vendor list covers chefs, photographers and more, but it does not include officiants. Couples find their own.

What does the event fee cover?

The $500 event fee covers the extra cleaning and garbage, and it is in addition to your nightly rate.
