Why Bend and Sunriver suit a company offsite

The estate puts the meeting room, the beds, the kitchen and the downtime on one property. Nobody drives between a hotel and a venue. It is one private estate that sleeps up to 30, instead of stitching together four separate condos. Bend is about 30 minutes away, and Sunriver Resort is five miles, about ten minutes.

The house sits at the end of a dead-end private road in the Three Rivers area near Sunriver, Oregon. There are 80 acres of trees on one side and protected river habitat across the water. That reach of the Deschutes is a federally designated Wild and Scenic River. It is about as private as Central Oregon gets, so a team can talk freely.

The estate hosts corporate offsites, wellness and team retreats, sports teams, milestone birthdays and multi-family trips. See wellness retreats and every other kind of group retreat.

The boardroom: a 12-foot table in the Sunriver estate's great room

The main session happens at the 12-foot dining table in the vaulted great room of the Lodge. It is a twelve-seat table with benches and chairs. Additional chairs and folding tables are available for a bigger circle: about 16 folding chairs and some folding tables are on site.

The great room has a vaulted ceiling, a stone fireplace, a long sectional and a wall-mounted television, with the open kitchen beside it. The Lodge has a 65-inch 4K TV. Bring the cables and adapters your laptops need.

The open kitchen, with its Breville espresso machine and a large butcher-block island, is beside the great room, so coffee breaks stay short. Four 8-foot picnic tables stand in a row outside for a session or a meal in the open air.

Breakout rooms: two living areas, the covered deck and the Cottage

There are two large living areas with vaulted ceilings and stone fireplaces, one upstairs and one down. A group can split into two sessions without leaving the Lodge.

200 Mbps WiFi throughout for a working offsite near Bend

There is free high-speed 200 Mbps WiFi throughout. The two large living areas and the long dining table work well for remote work and group sessions. A hybrid meeting with colleagues joining by video is practical.

The working spaces are all in the Lodge: the great room, the downstairs living area and the covered deck. A 65-inch 4K TV with DISH, Blu-ray and HD TVs cover the evenings.

Private chef and massage through Epicurate

We can arrange private chefs and mobile massage for your group through our Epicurate partners. The vendor list also covers photography and video, meal delivery, and workshops and classes.

A private chef keeps the team on the property between sessions instead of driving out. Dinner can be at the 12-foot table inside or at the four 8-foot picnic tables outside. Mobile massage on the second afternoon gives people a reason to close the laptop.

If the group cooks, the kitchen is chef-friendly. It has a large butcher-block island, a Vitamix, a KitchenAid mixer, a sous vide and a Breville espresso machine. The deck has a large gas grill. In Bend, Costco, Trader Joe's, Fred Meyer, Whole Foods, WinCo and Newport Avenue Market cover the big shop. The Sunriver Country Store, closer in, covers the essentials.

For a night out, see where to eat near Sunriver. Make reservations for larger groups, especially on summer weekends.

Downtime: the Deschutes, disc golf and the hot tub

The river is the first option for the afternoon off. Float right from the dock, hand-launch a kayak or paddleboard, or fish the Deschutes subject to seasonal regulations. Bring your own water toys and PFDs; none are provided. The Big River boat ramp, a public put-in, is 2.5 miles up the road.

Off the property, Bend has breweries and shopping. Mt. Bachelor is about 30 minutes away for skiing and, in summer, a lift-accessed downhill bike park. SHARC passes are not included. See things to do in Sunriver and the Deschutes at Sunriver.
